What happens when baby is sick or you have a cold or flu? Best is to continue breastfeeding when baby is sick. Breast milk is loaded with antibodies and nutrients to replenish lost fluids and also to strengthen baby's immune system. Baby also find nursing soothing. As for mom being sick, wash and sanitize your hands regularly and refrain from coughing and sneezing close to baby.
